We closed July off with Tony and Mary's ceremony in the lovely Dundrum House Hotel, Tipperary. In the photo above, this was the entrance that the bride took to the ceremony room, so we could time our entrance music perfectly!! They chose pieces that we loved performing; classical pieces that we wouldn't normally get to play in a string trio but that we were delighted to arrange and perform! Here's the list:
Lighting of the Separate Candles: Aria from Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach
Lighting of the Marriage Candle: Arrival of the Queen of Sheba by Handel
Signing of the Register: Prelude no. 1 for solo cello by J.S. Bach
Recessional: When I'm 64 by The Beatles
We stayed for an hour of their drinks reception where there were some delicious homemade cupcakes doing the rounds, and there were plenty of seats around the bar and lounge area for everyone to sit and have a chat, the atmosphere was so nice! Everyone was really having a great catch up, and the bride and groom stepped just outside for photos on the beautiful grounds of the hotel so there was no big wait for them to arrive from their photos, the day went super smoothly! We had plenty of time to chat with them AND Tony sent us this lovely message:
Your performance throughout the ceremony was exceptional....You all showed fantastic professionalism throughout, so after the ceremony I was in your debt.
The feedback about you on the day was fantastic. You wonderfully kept our company entertained while we were away. I've lost count how many times I replayed your name during the night, and how I was in agreement about how great you were. In fact, you got more compliments than the fillet steak - and at a country wedding in Tipperary, that's quite a feat!
Finally, I want to thank you especially once again for playing Debussy as Mary's entrance music. It was perfect!
I am so sad people only get married once, after reading this I just want to play again and again for them, thank you so much for your kind words!!! We were delighted to be a part of your day and wish you all the best for the future! :)
