Friday night we had a pizza party with sangria, and Crepes and Craic cooked up dozens of delicious authentic crepes for the guests who arrived at the house from their travels, ready to start the weekend. The bride's sister provided a fabulous chocolate biscuit cake for us all too! Deeelish!
Saturday the girls were up early to be pampered by Caroline Bourke Makeup & Styling, before making their way to the church which was beautifully done by Wedding Flowers Kinsale. We didn't even get the beautiful pew ends in the pic as we were in the church so early and busy setting up!
For the ceremony, we played:
Entrance: Canon
Lighting of the Separate Candles: Salut d'Amour
Psalm: Eagle's Wings
Gospel Acclamation: Celtic Alleluia
Lighting of the Marriage Candle: Inis Oirr
Offertory: Ave Maria (Schubert)
Sign of Peace: Tabhair dom do Lámh
Communion: 1. Halo 2. Clair de Lune
Signing of the Register: 1. Stand by Me 2. Little Things
Recessional: Greatest Day
After the church we all headed back to Ballinacurra House where Here Comes the Trio played for two more hours of the drinks reception while the newlyweds and their families (which meant we had to take a small break to hop in some photos, including the token selfie) had their photographs taken by John Daly Photo. We sat down to dinner where our place names were envelopes with little scratch cards, and a penny in each envelope so no one had to break a nail scratching theirs! We were wined, dined and wined some more, before some lovely speeches, and then the couples cut their scrumptious cake, baked the previous day by wedding-coordinator-extraordinaire, Dee. He is AMAZING, his attention to detail for the couple, his helpfulness to the trio, the delicious cake, he's a hero and deserves a special mention!
Next, one of the highlights of the night! THE PAPA ZITAS took to the stage and well, the night started and ended there for me - I didn't leave the dancefloor all night! They were so so so so so so so so so so fantastic!!!!!!!!! I have heard them on so many occasions, recommended them to the B&G but still, all my expectations were just totally surpassed and every single guest raved about them and still talks about them now! They were just out of this world and totally made my night! Mammies, uncles, cousins - everyone was up dancing eventually! Little by little the flip-flops came out as the heels came off, but the fascinators (including some by 'Hattitude kinsale and Peacock & Ruby) stayed on! Mark Wilson took those left on the dancefloor into the early hours before we all went home to bed.
The Sunday afternoon we had a quieter gathering at The Bulman Kinsale, where the mother of the bride had made ANOTHER cake - a fruit cake this time! All the families eventually descended on to the small beach at the front and there were some lovely photo opportunities.
Some fantastic memories, a stunning bride and handsome groom, my first wedding staying after 6pm (can you imagine! Always a musician, never a guest!) and super weather all weekend. I can't compliment the staff at Ballinacurra House enough, or the bride and groom on their choice of EVERYTHING. They put their guests first and we were all spoiled absolutely rotten. A delicious 5 course meal with wine flowing and cake available ALL NIGHT, three different days with different food and different cakes.. just wow! Here's a few photos, I never put up photos of brides, grooms or guests but I'm hoping nobody minds, they're all so beautiful!
