Eoin found us online as he was looking for a string quartet who would just do rock/pop for the reception, and when he came across our trio he was happy to book, picking only contemporary music from our repertoire list (click here to read through for yourself). Sarah was completely oblivious to all the music plans, we think she thought she would walk up the aisle to a cd, but her husband to be had greater things in mind! We played Bob Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love" as the three bridesmaids, flower girl and bride walked up to the top of a beautifully decorated room.
They had a relaxed, short civil ceremony which included a beautiful sand ceremony. Eoin took a pot of black sand, Sarah a pot of white sand, and they poured half of their jars into a larger vase, creating a unique design. Then their little page boy and flower girl poured a jar each of red sand into the middle, and Eoin and Sarah poured the remainder of theirs on top, symbolising their unity and representing their newly official family unit - a wonderful idea and a sweet alternative to unity candles when there is more than just a couple involved. They also had ring boxes made out of Lego!!!!
For the Signing of the Register we played "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica, followed by Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" for their recessional. On our way to the drinks reception Sarah thanked us for coming and said she especially loved Journey! We then perched ourselves on the spiral staircase/mezzanine for the drinks reception and played background music until dinner (which wasn't always background music; a few pieces definitely got the listeners' attention!).
The couple and guests were all very relaxed throughout the day, and Eoin's brother was playing in the band for the evening so we're certain they all had a great night!
