Tahilla Church and Parknasilla ResortJust before Christmas we joined forces with soprano Anna Forsyth to perform for Sean and Michelina's wedding in St. Patrick's Church, Tahilla, Co. Kerry. They picked a mix of music from Anna's repertoire and our own, making for a very interesting ceremony! Here's the music we performed: Processional: O mio babbino caro Cande lighting: Lascia Ch'io Pianga Responsorial Psalm: Mo Ghrá Thú Alleluia: Seinn alleluia Offertory: Ave Maria (Schubert) Sign of Peace: Gabriel’s Oboe Communion: 1. Oh Holy Night 2. Little Drummer Boy Signing of the Register: 1. Smoke gets in your eyes (Kern) 2. Someone to watch over me (Gershwin) Recessional: Quando men vo (Puccini) Anna was absolutely fantastic to work with, and we would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a soprano for their wedding. We joined the guests at Parknasilla Resort for the drinks reception, and we bumped into a former client of ours, whose wedding we played at in 2014, who was a guest at this wedding! There was mulled wine, tea, coffee, fish, chips and other yummy things, and I was too busy playing and eating to take any photos of the lovely surroundings at the hotel. We had a great time and thankfully the storms didn't affect anyone's journey. Thank you so much for having us and all the best for 2016! Ballinacurra House, KinsaleWe were still digesting our turkey when we were back to work on the 27th December for Fiona and Ger's wedding in Ballinacurra House, Kinsale. Their ceremony was celebrated by Rev. Michael Burke from the Order of the Marian Apostles, and here's the music we played: Entrance: Jaws for a few seconds and Theme Tune to Game of Thrones Lighting of the individual candle -Air on a G String Music between Sermon and Ring Warming Secret Wedding Lighting of the marriage candle - The Winner Is Signing of the Register: Don't Stop Believing Exit: All You Need Is Love The ceremony room looked stunning, having only seen it as a dancefloor at a previous wedding I couldn't believe the transformation, it was beautiful. For the drinks reception we played a mix of Christmas, classical and modern songs, and they received so many compliments about the music over breakfast that they sent us a message the very next day, we're chuffed! Thank you for having us and congratulations! Kinsale Church and Actons HotelElaine and Alan were married in St. John The Baptist Church, Kinsale over Christmas, and here is their ceremony music:

All You Need is Love Recessional: Here Comes the Sun We played for their drinks reception in Actons Hotel Kinsale, performing a mix of pop and Christmas music as well as some classical music, and even took some requests! Elaine was so chilled out, coming up to us and having a laugh in the middle of her drinks reception, no sign of a stressed bride that day! The food was fantastic too with delicious chowder and soup with brown bread, and a gorgeous sweet table with penny sweets and Ferrero Rocher, yummy! Can't imagine sitting down to a big dinner after all that, heehee! Their wedding was originially booked for The Steakhouse restaurant, which caught fire in August! Luckily Actons were able to accommodate the wedding, the place looked gorgeous and everyone enjoyed it, and thankfully the Steakhouse is reopen and there were no serious injuries or anything, but still, imagine the stress for everyone involved! The Steakhouse is a fantastic restaurant that deserves our support so pop on over to their Facebook page and give them a like, and visit them next time you're in Kinsale, you won't be disappointed Once again, Congratulations E&A and thanks for having us!! Sacred Heart Church, Cobh, Co. CorkJuly was busy for us, starting off with the wedding of Caroline and Peter at the Sacred Heart Church in Norwood, Cobh. Their friend Pa sang with us for the Psalm and Gospel Acclamation and was super professional, showing up just to run things once and was totally on the ball. He wasn't the only talented guest at the wedding, Caroline's sister who was also a bridesmaid sang Songbird after Communion. Of course as she was bridesmaid, we had no rehearsal and she just stood up at the top of the church and we started away having never heard her sing. She was absolutely amazing and had half the guests in tears, what a lovely treat for her sister's wedding! We received a lovely message of thanks from the newlyweds which you can read on our Testimonials page. Here's the full list of music from the church: Entrance: Bridesmaids: Pachelbel's Canon, Bride: Gabriel's Oboe Lighting of the Separate Candles: Bach - Air Psalm: Eagles Wings with Pa Alleluia: Seinn Alleluia with Pa Lighting of the Marriage Candle: Bach - Air Offertory: Bach Arioso Sign of Peace: Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring Communion: 1. Marino Waltz Recessional (Exit): Zadok The Priest Humanist Ceremony in Waterford CastleWe took a trip out East to Waterford Castle for the wedding of Emily and Paul. They were married in a Humanist ceremony, by the celebrant Siobhan Walls. She is based in Dublin, and was absolutely fantastic, we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a humanist celebrant, although she's probably booked well into 2017... They incorporated a sand ceremony, taking two bottles of sand of different colours, and pouring them into a new container together, forming a unique design that is impossible to separate. It's highly symbolic, and also something different to lighting candles, where you have something you can keep forever after the ceremony is over! Here is the music we played for the ceremony= Entrance: All You Need Is Love During the Sand Ceremony: How Long Will I Love You Signing of Register: Nothing Else Matters Recessional: It Must Be Love The brief for the drinks reception was "the madder the better", so we played all our AC/DC, Guns 'n' Roses, Metallica, Queens of the Stone Age, everything we could find that wasn't pop or classical! We had a great time and got loads of compliments from guests who admired the selection of music that was a bit different from what they'd normally hear. Thank you for having us and congratulations!! Civil Ceremony in the Carlton Hotel, KinsaleAfter our trip to Waterford we played much closer to home for Claire and Darren's wedding at the Carlton Hotel, Kinsale. They were married by Rena Noonan of the HSE, and their ceremony music followed a simple structure: Entrance: Nothing Else Matters Lighting of the Individual Candles: Inis Oirr Lighting of Unity Candle: Air on the G String Signing of the Register: Make You Feel My Love Recessional: Everlong After the ceremony we played outside on the terrace for a little while, until the rain came and forced us inside! The weather didn't affect the mood at all however, and we played away inside to a very lively bunch of guests who had a ball. Thank you Claire and Darren for having us and congratulations! Mogeely Church, East CorkWhen Dave contacted us about his wedding, he said we had a lot of music on our list that had small connections to memories with his bride, Aisling. It's always so nice when couples write back to us after the big day to thank us, it's something small but makes us very happy! Drinks Reception in the Orangery at the Maryborough HotelAs the music choice for a drinks reception is spontaneous, there isn't much to write about after a drinks reception when compared to a church ceremony. However, I had to share some photos of the gorgeous Orangery at the Maryborough, so here are a few snaps! St. John the Baptist Church, KinsaleHelen and Declan tied the knot at a very intimate wedding in Kinsale parish church. Between the guests, bride, groom, priest, sacristan, musicians and photographer there were still fewer than 20 people in the church. It was a very sweet ceremony and we had a proper chance to chat with the groom before the ceremony and with the couple together afterwards.

It was so nice to be a part of something a little bit different, thanks to Declan and Helen for having us! Everyone was milling about on the lawn in the sunshine, and photographer Rory O'Toole gathered them in front of the house and took a group shot from an upstairs balcony. He was so nice to deal with and we had a lovely chat with him over some yummy bar food, thanks Rachel and Rob and all the amazing staff at Springfort Hall for a great day! Congratulations R&R! Glounthaune Church and Barnabrow HouseOn the last weekend in June, there was some glorious sunshine in Glounthane for Johnny and Laura's wedding.
