They had been looking for a group to play alternative music for their ceremony, and heard about us online from last month's couple who booked us for the same reason.
They walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon, and then lit candles in memory of some special people while we played Shining Light by Ash. We played A Thousand Years by Christina Perri after they took their vows, and as they signed their marriage certificate we played Highway to Hell by AC/DC. As the ceremony ended they walked out to the theme tune from Star Trek!
100% of the music was chosen by Maria and Orlaith; there were loads of compliments about the music selection and we loved it too, it really had such a personal touch!
The ceremony, celebrated by Romy of A Beautiful Ceremony also included a sand ceremony (with pink and purple sand to match the theme of the wedding) and a reading of I Wanna Grow Old With You (click here to hear the song!).
We did get a chance after the guests were called to dinner to have a chat with the girls - two lovely, lovely people! It's strange to think just 3 years ago in Ireland their legal partnership wouldn't have been possible, we're delighted for them and wish them a very happy future together! :)
